Is THIS the way?

In the last few days I’ve used shamanic journeying, tarot, microdosing, astrology, dream work, mythology, inner child work, Socratic questioning, guided visualisation, Kabbalah, alchemy, and other traditions and systems in working with clients and students.

Some of these I use because they’re my mother tongue (e.g. Socratic questioning, mythology, and archetypes) some I use because I’ve been guided to do so despite much resistance (e.g. shamanism as a whole, and teacher plants especially), and some I use because they’re the other person’s mother tongue (e.g. Human Design).

Sometimes it will be obvious what I’m using, sometimes it’s not.

Not one of these things are The Answer, The One Way, or are The Whole Truth, they simply provide lenses, mirrors, and portals for someone to better enter, illuminate and understand their inner world so that they can heal, reclaim, and actualise the unique myth their soul came here for.

I say “simply” but these lenses, mirrors, and portals are much dismissed, demonised, and misunderstood in our modern world, and in doing so, we miss what they can really show us.

If we see them as utter nonsense we dismiss what they’re showing us… Convinced we are rational and free of superstition, not seeing we are blinded by fantasies and nightmares, personal and collective - not least the one that tells us only the known material world is real.

If we denounce them as work of the Devil, we demonise the polarities of human expression and experience that they’re showing us, and thereby demonise aspects of others and most of all, ourselves.

If we project objective fixed truth on them we misunderstand what they’re showing us… Waiting passively for our fate to happen as it’s been foretold by the stars or cards.

And so… what can these lenses, mirrors, and portals show us?

They can show us the symbols… The heart, the pearl, the grail, the Warrior, the dove, the Magdalene… that are breadcrumbs that we can choose to find and follow back home to ourselves and to God.
