Real Magic
Written by Lian Brook-Tyler
At this point, it seems to me it’s a case of ‘when, not if’ we embrace real magic in our culture… Modern science is slowly catching up with what shamanic traditions have understood for eons (which in turn, most anthropologists obediently papered over until recently).
As Dean Radin says in his book Real Magic “The new discipline will be the study of the psychophysical nature of reality, that mysterious, interstitial space shimmering between mind and matter.” As exciting as that prospect is, we won’t be waiting around for the results of that study before we include a generous sprinkle of magic in everything we do.
In Waking The Wild, we guide people along the paths of ascension *and* descension… it’s having one foot in the Divine and the other in the Creature, as paradoxical as that feels, that not only allows us to live open-hearted, soul-led sovereign lives but allows us to harness magic.
Waking The Wild Medicine will have the biggest helping of magic of anything we’ve created, so the ones who are feeling called to that path are also being called to be a pioneer in our culture’s understanding of magic.
Which makes complete sense, we believe that the ones with potent medicine would have been their village’s shamans in another time and place… and therefore are *made* for magic.
That propensity for magic will show up for these people in challenging ways, they’re told they are:
Too sensitive
Too truthful
Too deep
Too emotional
Too dreamy
Too much
…until they’re ready to make their abilities conscious (and then the real magic can happen).
You’ll know if that’s you.
Coming up in 2021 there will be more ways that you can walk the path of Waking The Wild. It’s going to be an epic year of Soul, Myth & Magic if we have anything to do with it! To find out more go to: Go deeper – Primal Happiness –
