WHAT IS A KING? 👑

I happened to see that Sara in the WTW Team shared a short clip of John Patrick Morgan and I talking about the King archetype (link of the episode here) into a thread about women referring to men as “kings”.

I so enjoyed re-watching John’s evocative description of what the King archetype means to him that it inspired me to say more on the topic.

John’s deep, powerful intentional journey with the King beautifully illustrates why I love guiding people to *consciously* work with archetypes (many different ones, the King being just one of them, my favourites include the Wild Man/Woman, the Empress/Emperor, the Visionary and the Priest/Priestess).

I’ve seen so many people’s lives radically transform, deep wounds heal and hearts open through the conscious embodiment and expression of the archetypes their soul came here to live into.

The truth is we’re all responding to archetypes whether we know it or not, and like it or not… and as Jung said “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

As we make these unconscious archetypes conscious, that sense of fate just happening to us alchemises into an awareness of the choice to create a life overflowing with love, magic, beauty and truth.

I know when I use words of that kind and when I speak of ‘living mythically’ it can sound bypassy, fantastical and grandiose, but really it is becoming more conscious and sovereign (there’s that archetype again 👑) about what we’re all already doing in some way.

And the real paradox of working with myths and archetypes is that it is through becoming conscious of these divine energies that are weaving through our lives that we can become more human… a true adult one who is whole, individuated and actualised.
