How to create a No Woman Vision Quest

This week’s show is with Toku McCree, who is an author, speaker, and coach focused on bringing Zen teachings to the world of business, leadership, and coaching. He trained for over two years as a Zen Monk and whose clients work with some of the world’s top organizations including, Facebook, Google, the New York Times, United Talent Agencies, Nokia, and more.

In this show we spoke about how and why Toku has created and embarked on a No Woman Vision Quest. Toku shared openly about his past relationship patterns and how they were at least in part, the inspiration for him to create this quest, what he’s discovered so far. Finally he shared some practical tips about how to create your own quest like this if you’re feeling called to do so.

I’d love to know what YOU think about this week’s show. Let’s carry on the conversation…  please leave a comment below.

What you’ll learn from this episode:

  • Simply being aware of The Heroine’s Journey and where you’ve travelled, where you are now, and what’s to come can be so helpful, inspiring and hopeful.

  • It’s important to understand that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with you if you’re feeling the struggle of being a woman in a masculine world that’s been set up to honour The Hero’s Journey.

  • We have such a beautiful opportunity now as woman, to hear the call of the Feminine and to embrace The Heroine’s Journey to fall deeply into our bodies, our souls and who we came here to be.

What you’ll learn from this episode:

  • Creating a fast where you remove something from your life is a powerful way of seeing your patterns with more elevation and finding ways to give to yourself what you’ve previously got from your pattern. I love how Toku could see his patterns revealed so clearly during his fast.

  • The space created by a fast can illuminate or provide connections that are unexpected and unrelated to the fast – I loved Toku’s example of seeing the wind dance with the tree.

  • Everyone should do one! And intentionally too – not just ‘being single’. If you’re feeling that mixture of fear and excitement that Toku spoke about then why not accept his invitation and create a fast for yourself?
