Pedestalise or demonise? ⚡️
By Lian Brook-Tyler
This is an archetypal pattern that we can experience when a teacher or leader is perceived to fall from grace in some way and we feel disappointment, disavowal or dismay.
When we feel these things, we are likely moving from one end of the shadow pole to another… From projecting perfect master to total disaster.
This move is so seductive, so tempting, it requires no responsibility, and it asks for no accountability of our own part in the show… Which means our part in the pattern continues unseen.
But when we are in the work of Sovereignty, we have the opportunity to seek to claim our projections.
That opportunity is a treasure chest of gold, and the key to it is… We understand that what we are projecting is OURS.
When we project wisdom, divinity, power, grace, goodness, beauty, or integrity on the other person, we understand it is our own unclaimed wisdom, divinity, power, grace, goodness, or integrity.
When we project lust, greed, blindness, stupidity, or laziness on them, we understand it is our own unclaimed lust, greed, blindness, stupidity, or laziness, or the distorted unwelcome perception of it.
We are all human, we are all divine, and we all have a mile long shadow bag to explore… If we notice what we’re projecting onto others, we have the precious possibility to grasp the torch and illuminate it in ourselves.
From there we can bring grace, understanding and love to what’s been denied and dismissed, and from there we have the chance of a lifetime… the chance of becoming whole.
All my love,
Lian
