THIS IS HOW TO SPELL YOUR WORLD IN 4 STAGES

An important aspect of the work that we do at Be Mythical, both our own inner work and the work we do with others, is about the words used to create ourselves and the world.

(Of course, it’s really about the energy that underlies the words but that’s one for another day.)

Over the past decade of doing this work, we’ve seen there’s four stages that most of us tend to go through on the journey of fully discovering this secret of magic.

Stage 1: Unconsciously using words to create unconsciously

In our modern culture, Stage 1 is the most common way words are used - we unconsciously use words to create the world we say we *don’t* want.

One way of spotting whether you’re doing this is noticing when you’re naming what you have that you don’t want, along with the words such as “never”, “ever”, “nobody” and “always”, for example “Nobody ever appreciates me!” and “It never works out for me.”

At this stage, we are caught in a self-fulfilling prophecy, continuing to create variants of the same world over and over, and blaming the world for it.

The invitation: To take responsibility for how we’re creating our world.

Stage 2: Consciously using words to create unconsciously

At this stage, we begin to discover agency and learn some of the magic of words, maybe through NLP, affirmations or the Law of Attraction, and begin to consciously use words to create the world we say we want.

This is often how people create seemingly successful lives that tick the society-approved boxes but which don’t make them truly happy or fulfilled - it doesn’t feel like they’re living their “right life”.

A key tell of this stage is personal growth work focused on mindset mastery, goals and plans, with the intention of improving yourself… what is so often missed in this stage is that all this work is at the behest of a scared aspect of self that is operating from conditioning and wounding and really just wants to be safe and loved.

This stage is like setting off on a journey into a dark forest, taking a wrong turn because you’re spooked and then adding a jetpack so you go the wrong way faster.

Words work whether what’s being created is truly right for us or not.

The invitation: To recognise how we’re creating our world from Fear and to move towards Love.

Stage 3: Unconsciously using words to create consciously

Here, we’ve set foot on a spiritual path, we know something beyond the separate, scared self of Stage 2, maybe experienced oneness, and it feels like coming home.

At this stage, we are focused on non-duality, which means we are creating from Love - in other words, consciously - and yet, we are dismissive of the dualistic nature of words, tell ourselves that stories and labels are illusory, and therefore lose the ability to use them consciously and powerfully.

This can be a tricky stage to move beyond, so seductive is its illusion that we’ve finally seen through the illusion, and therefore there’s no place to go from here.

The invitation: To heal and individuate to create our world from wholeness.

Stage 4: Consciously using words to create consciously

At this stage, we’re aware that we’re here for the real work, the deep work, the Great Work.

We understand the opportunity that life presents is to liberate ourselves from the stories we’ve outgrown and were never really ours to begin with, to unite with the deepest, hidden aspects of ourselves, and to write a mythical story across the pages of our lives.

Here, words are returned to the domain of art, and we see that life is art.

The invitation: To create our world as a unique expression of Divine Will.
