At any one time, the good ship Waking The Wild carries between twenty and thirty souls, depending on the crucibles that are in play, with thirty being the absolute maximum.
The upper limit is fully intentional, based on how many people Waking The Wild can hold so that every person, passenger and crew, can be met in the most powerful, loving and aligned way during their time onboard with us.
Last night, Mr B and I watched the latest series of The Crown [spoiler alert], one episode focused on the ailing HMS Britannia and the massive Β£14 million pound investment she required to bring her back to the appropriate levels of both luxury and seaworthiness. Arriving at the agreement to spend that Β£14 million required much from all involved.
The good ship Waking The Wild is undergoing a complete refit too, whilst itβs not costing 14 million pounds in money, in terms of the focus, time (over three years!) and energy weβve invested, itβs an excellent comparison.
In aesthetic terms, it will mean she looks and feels magnificent and cohesive (something thatβs of huge importance to me and Jonathan - both of us score highly on Beauty & Excellence on the Via Strengths Finder!)
In practical terms, it will mean she will continue to be fit for her profound purpose: bearing people from one island to another - to their own unique version of paradise.
And lastly, sheβs being expanded, Iβm not sure what the right way of saying this whilst using the ship metaphor but as we work magically, bending time and space is entirely possible, so Iβll just gesture at Harry Potterβs Night Bus and Dr Whoβs Tardis instead.
Waking The Wild will soon be able to take more, far more, wild souls on their journey, beginning with the creation of our brand new crucible, Waking The Wild Soul - a journey of awakening and embodying the fundamentals of a soul-led life. It will be the most accessible offering weβve had in many years and itβll be launching (pun fully intended) very soon.
Iβll leave you with the poem I read in this weekβs Medicine Circle, it captures perfectly the work we do and βjust happensβ to be about a shipβ¦
CARGO
By Greg Kimura
You enter life a ship laden with meaning, purpose and gifts
sent to be delivered to a hungry world.
And as much as the world needs your cargo,
you need to give it away.
Everything depends on this.
But the world forgets its needs,
and you forget your mission,
and the ancestral maps used to guide you
have become faded scrawls on the parchment of dead Pharaohs.
The cargo weighs you heavy the longer it is held
and spoilage becomes a risk.
The ship sputters from port to port and at each you ask:
"Is this the way?"
But the way cannot be found without knowing the cargo,
and the cargo cannot be known without recognizing there is a way,
and it is simply this:
You have gifts.
The world needs your gifts.
You must deliver them.
The world may not know it is starving,
but the hungry know,
and they will find you
when you discover your cargo
and start to give it away.
π«
Youβre welcome (*all* of you is welcome, in fact!) to come aboard Waking The Wild if youβre ready to discover your cargo.
Iβll see you on deck soonβ¦ your exquisite, bespoke cocktail awaits.
