How long does it take to live your soul’s purpose?

My own purpose is guiding others to discover their soul’s purpose and to actualise it, whether that’s through founding a business, creating a non-profit venture, or by honouring it in the work they already do, and one of the things I’ve seen is vital is that we need to honour the time that takes, however long that is.

There’s many reasons for that, but the specific reason that I’m feeling drawn to focus on here is about honouring the time it takes to follow the nudges from soul, even when they make little sense.

This photo is one I took when I was in the woods during my three year shamanic initiation…What I learned during that time is allowing me to serve my soul’s gifts, my own unique medicine, so much more powerfully than I could before… But those long years of prioritising spending extended periods in the woods in hard initiatory ceremonies came with huge impacts on my home and work life.

I could give many other examples of the twists and turns my soul has led me through, including diving deep into my own healing through shamanic work, therapy and nature connection, making highly inconvenient and disruptive business changes, and immersing myself in the study of non-dual spirituality, shadow alchemy, and archetypes and more, but this isn’t about me, it’s about what I’ve seen to be true for anyone who is devoted to their soul’s purpose … We need to honour whatever our soul is calling us to.

And that takes time, both in time spent and time passed.

In this age, we believe time is money, and so we often try to do the least amount possible as quickly as possible so we can get back to the most important thing: Making money.

But the soul doesn’t measure time that way, or differently said, your soul doesn’t measure your life that way.

The soul cares only about you doing what you came here to do in this lifetime, even if it takes a lifetime.

I would like to say taking the time to follow the nudges gets easier but I’m not sure that’s true, it’s more that it becomes a choiceless choice the more we understand that it’s part of living a soul-led life.
