Possessed by Archetypes

Once upon a time, I was barely conscious of archetypes, I mean, I knew the word and understood its meaning. Or rather, I understood the definition… but I had NO idea of the meaning.

Now archetypes literally are everything to me… I eat, sleep (definitely dream) and breathe them.

There isn’t a day that goes by without me speaking to our students about the invocation of powerful energetics like Empress, Magician, Priestess, Lover, specific deities, and of course, the Sovereign – the King or Queen – who is ever present for anyone who walks the path of Waking The Wild..

I remember a couple of years ago, realising that archetypes had gone beyond my usual autistic obsession, and had taken on a life of their own – and that life was my own.

It was only today that I realised that the “possession by spirits” that’s one of the ways shamans work, is what’s happening, I’m possessed by these archetypes… some I embody personally, some I’m merely a conduit for as they make their way to their intended recipient.

The latter happened today with Inanna, Goddess of the underworld, the wondrous vulva, naked truth and shadows… and the glorious woman she was destined for couldn’t be more perfect for her to express her liberating power through.

I wonder if we all have a match made in Heaven like this… a particular God, Goddess or archetype that’s meant for us, a guide, friend and teacher to help us become our unique gift… and if so, that to me, is Heaven on earth.
