As we close the doors to Waking The Wild Medicine ‘22, it felt timely to do a post like this (for the first time since 2019!)

I’ve been pondering what International Women’s Day means to me, if anything, and therefore what to say, if anything.

Like many autistic people, I’ve often been told I’m “too honest”. Lies feel like barbed wire on my skin, even so-called white ones. Half-truths make me feel like I can’t breathe.

I rarely share “money results” from our clients and students because they can be a distraction from what’s most important but I’m going to do so now because this is a good example of what’s most important.

For many years, I believed I wasn’t a people pleaser, a rare breed – especially as a woman, and there’s some truth in that…

As we’re talking to the magical people who are called to Waking The Wild Medicine, we’re noticing that so far there’s been more women than men.

I resolve, on this eve of the new year, to love me. To love my less good side, the awkward way I say things like “How are you?”…twice,

I wrote the words below almost three months ago as we begun the first circle of Waking The Wild Feminine… today, as I prepare for our closing ceremony I can see it was indeed the deepest, darkest one yet.

Our people are the wild ones, the misfits, the magical ones, the neurodivergents, the medicinal ones, the powerful leaders who model loving and truthful ways of living… they’re unique, of course, but the commonality they share is that they didn’t come here to fit neatly and politely into this culture, they came to shake things up… to either herald in new ways or to reclaim the ancient ways, sometimes both, and always aligned with their Soul’s True Will.

I see your selfies.

Your smiles concealed by

duck faces.

Your duck face concealed by

filters.

And despite it all,

your swan.

I see your breast milk,

secretly spattered everywhere,

like a crime scene under UV light.

I see your liquid gold

and raise you

up.

MAKING IT LOOK EASY ✨ There was a point a few years ago when finally… everything began to work. Every group program we offer fills quickly and our 1: 1 programs are full until next year, they’re a dream for us to create and they deliver all the transformation intended, seeming miracles, in some cases.

To create a business, a real business – the beautiful, fantastical, edgy af, playful and love-fuelled one that your soul is inconveniently calling you to – takes time. Time to hear your soul’s call, time to find the courage to heed it and then a lot more time than you believe at the start that you can or will give it before it ‘works’.

Holders need holding too… At the end of the session with my coach today I said… “We could have just spoken about custard for an hour and it would have been exactly what I needed.” After a particularly intense day of holding others, I felt an unusually strong need to be held too.

It takes a great Sage Queen to see, feel and speak from the depths of her heart and soul… I am fortunate enough to call one such as she a client and now soul sister… Elizabeth Lovius, who opened my heart beyond measure with these gifts and words.

Seven years ago when I first became a coach I honestly didn’t have anything resembling a niche, though I suspect the delusions of grandeur baked into the copy on my website said otherwise. Really, I just “helped people” – typically they were people with anxiety, depression, OCD or stress and I helped them to have peace of mind.
